New Gunter!
I think I found a song I hate more than Tik Tok! I listened to it a few times just to be sure. I’ll admit it’s a got a catchy hook, but then again, so does Tik Tok. The rest of the song is just the height of cheese. And then Kesha in there, too, ensuring that I would hate it.
I feel like we’re well on our way to a modification of the horrible late 90’s/early 2000’s boy band era. This time, though, instead of gelled Floridians lip syncing and executing complicated choreography, we get duos of slicked up MGMT impersonators sing-talking over electropop.
I’m glad Eminem is enjoying a comeback because we could use his services making fun of these people.
EDIT: Someone re-blogged this adding that this band, 3OH!3 (from Boulder), started off as a joke, something these guys did for fun while they were in college. Awesome for them. I’m all about joke bands and having fun with music - I was a big Blink 182 fan mostly because they seemed like one of the only bands actually enjoying having millions of fans and getting paid ridiculous money to play music. That knowledge doesn’t make this song anymore enjoyable for me, but I really like the idea that these two have tricked the country into taking them seriously. In short, if it is satire, it’s perfectly executed.
I really like Kevin’s overnight article for Dorkly last night. The Skate 3 City Planner Gets Fired. Read the whole thing!

Job
Here is the second Jake and Amir where I am very happily eating a sandwich and playing Nintendo DS in the background (it was my lunch break)
Amir has been obsessed with weather forecasts as long as I’ve known him. Really. I can’t believe how much effort he put into this, but I’m glad he did.
During Amir’s first winter in New York (2005) he became fascinated by the phrase “wintery mix,” which he modified to “wintery-ass mix.” I remember him finding the phrase irritating because it lacked specifics (snow, icy rain, what?). I always imagined his fascination with weather was due to growing up in a place without any - well, without any bad weather - but now I think it may just be him. Do any other LA transplants find the weather in New York extremely interesting?
I have a new CH article up tonight. One of my favorite comedy things to do is think about how future people think about us. I think a lot of what we consider to be normal, rational behavior will be interpreted as anything but someday far in the future. Anyway, this article gave me a chance to a little of that style of thinking.
CollegeHumor production wizards Jordan and Bennett, along with their friend Adam, have a great website for their urban farm. You can see what they’re growing, what’s being harvested and generally feel bad about your after work productivity.
The fun thing about trying to find illustration interns is that every now and then, they send in something like this. (Matt Buck)
This is a disturbingly accurate drawing of my body. And the leaf Pat uses to cover his gentials.
