Hell yes! Someone make me a guest judge, please.
Boo Yah! Unlike Frucci here I have no intentions of being a guest judge, but damn, I would like to be at one of the events they have to cook for. Maybe they’ll do a ‘online media lunch’ or something and I can go. I can see the scene now. Padma would line them all up and say something like, “Tonight you’ll be cooking for 150 of New York’s most discriminating bloggers. These people spend all day behind a computer and eat a lot of their meals from take-out restaurants, so they’re looking forward to a well-cooked meal. You’ll have two hours to plan your menu and shop for ingredients at Whole Foods. You’ll then have three hours prep time tonight and an hour tomorrow before service.”
Anthony Bourdain would chime in like, “These people can ruin your reputation online so you better bring your A-Game. Good luck.”
When they find me in the crowd I’ll say a couple of Top Chef standard comments to make sure I get into the episode. “The scallop was cooked perfectly.” “…a clean, elegant dish.” “The flavor profiles were spot on.” Etc.
I can’t wait.
